Rice Lake Center to be dedicated

Marshfield Clinic will hold a dedication ceremony and open house from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, for its new Rice Lake Center and the public is invited to attend.
Marshfield Clinic Rice Lake Center, located at 1700 W. Stout St. near the intersection of Highways 48 and 53, opened for patient care on Monday, April 28. It serves a four-county region in northwest Wisconsin.
Two self-guided tours have been designated in the building, both starting in the main lobby area beginning at 4 p.m. Rice Lake Center and Lakeview Medical Center staff will be on hand to provide information about their departments. Food and refreshments will be available.
The dedication program will begin at 5:15 p.m., followed by a ribbon cutting Emcee is Bradley Bekkum, M.D., medical director, Northwest Division, Marshfield Clinic.
Ground was broken on the 150,000-square-foot Rice Lake Center in June 2006. Cost of the building and equipment is nearly $50 million.
An estimated 300-500 patients a year are expected to benefit from having radiation oncology care closer to home.
The new Rice Lake Center features:
First floor - Pediatrics, Family Practice, Patient Education and anticoagulation service.
Second floor - Cardiology, Neurology, Laboratory services, Orthopaedics, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Occupational Medicine, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Oncology, Internal Medicine, Podiatry and Wound Care.
Third floor - Ophthalmology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Nephrology, Urology, General Surgery, Otolaryngology, Audiology, Center Administration offices and space for consulting specialists.
Limited parking is available on the Rice Lake Center campus for the dedication event. Alternative parking has been arranged on the Barron County Fairgrounds, with shuttle bus service every 15 minutes between the Fairgrounds to the Rice Lake Center and back. |
