ETC Auditions for Three Shows Jan 10 and 13
Wednesday, January 7, 2009 11:47 AM CST
ETC will be holding auditions for the first three shows of 2009 at The Cumberland Arts Center, 1595 2nd Avenue, on Saturday, January 10 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., and on Tuesday, January 13 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.. Catherine Tuminaro and Jim Kerr will be auditioning musical, dance, skits or other talents for the 9th Annual Cabaret Cumberland to be held February 7. If you have a talent, they’ll figure out how to use it.
Mike Clay is directing Steel Magnolias, an aptly named play about six strong southern women. The six female parts range in age from 20-70 or so. The play will run the first two weekends in May. Those who audition will be given scenes from the play for reading.
Fiddler on the Roof will be presented the second and third weeks of June.
This famous Broadway musical will require a village worth of actors, full chorus, male and female roles from about 8-95 years old. Most roles are singers, but there are a few non-singing parts. Ability to dance or willingness to learn are also valuable assets. High school men and women are welcome. You will be asked to sing a song of your choosing (bring piano score) or from Fiddler on the Roof, which will be provided. Dave Evenson will direct and John Westin will be musical director.
Those interested in providing technical support for any of these shows also are welcome to attend auditions, or call any of the directors.
