Beavers win pair; Set for Conference season

The Cumberland Baseball team traveled to Bruce last Thursday, where they came away with an 11-1 victory, raising their overall record to 3-1 on the season. This week, the State Ranked Beavers hosted Cameron on Monday and Ladysmith on Tuesday before entertaining home contests against Bloomer at 5:00 pm on Thursday and Northwestern on Saturday in a doubleheader starting at 11:00 am.
Isaac Bucher and Reid Olson shared the mound in the win over Bruce with Bucher taking his second pitching victory of the year with five innings of work, allowing only four hits while striking out eight hitters.
At the plate, Cumberland only had six hits, but took advantage of nine base on balls and three Bruce errors to plate their 11 runs. Jerrad Lindfors led Beaver hitters with a pair of hits including a home run. Max Narges and Kobe Berghammer added Cumberland doubles. Cumberland stole five bases in the game including two by Tyler Landsworth.    Cumberland played host to Cameron Monday night at Islander Park and coasted to an easy win. The Beavers took a 4-1 record into Tuesday night’s HON opener vs Ladysmith on Tuesday night. Details in next weeks Advocate
