Constance Schullo
Constance M. Schullo, 66, of Cumberland died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Cumberland Memorial Hospital.
She was born August 12, 1943 in Barron to Charles and Helen (Espeseth) Hockert.
Connie was raised in Ridgeland and graduated from Barron High School in 1961.
Connie was married to John Bates on January 22, 1962 and they had two children. After 25 years together, they divorced.
Her initial employment was in the field of early childhood development with Westcap, and later she owned and operated the Fashion Boutique in Colfax. She worked at Bremer Bank in Colfax for many years and transferred to Amery after meeting Jim Schullo.
They have been married since July 2, 1994.
Connie worked for Cumberland Federal Bank for 10 years before retiring due to health reasons.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Schullo of Cumberland; one son, John Bates of Waupaca, WI; one daughter, Julie (Bob Singh) Bates-Khosa of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; one stepdaughter, Jennifer Schullo (Bruce Wozniak) of Cumberland; one stepson, Michael (Missy) Schullo of Almena; nine grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie (Don) Hulback of Menomonie and three brothers, Philip (Diana) Hockert of Las Cruces, NM, Larry (Marilyn) Hockert of Sequin, TX and Roger (Margie) Hockert of Spooner.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Belinda.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 AM Saturday, February 27, 2010 at St Anthony Catholic Church, Cumberland, with Father David Lusson officiating. Burial of cremains was in St. Anthony Cemetery, Cumberland.
Pallbearers were Daniel Bates, Steve Hulback, Mike Schullo, Cole Schullo, Steve Mann and John Schullo.
Honorary pallbearer was Monica Khosa.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Skinner Funeral Home of Cumberland.
Clinton Snow
Clinton G. Snow, 83, of Cumberland died Sunday, February 28, 2010 at his home.
He was born March 16, 1926 in Kingston County, MN to John and Agnes (Jensen) Snow.
Clint served in the US Navy during WWII.
He was married in Minnesota on May 1, 1982 to Joni Osumi.
Clint was an over the road truck driver for Hyman Freight of St Paul for over 32 years and was a member of the Teamsters Union.
He is survived by his wife, Joni of Cumberland; one son, Clinton Snow, Jr of Big Fork, Minnesota; one daughter, Julia; two stepdaughters, Danielle Marie Larson of Madison and Angelica (Michael) Langdon of Cumberland; two stepsons, Thomas Osumi, Jr of Hilo, HI and Andre Nath Osumi; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one sister, Betty (Orville) Wood of Minnesota; one brother, John (Bonnie) Snow Jr. of Ohio and nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were at 10:30 AM Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Cumberland, with Father David Lusson officiating.
Burial of cremains will be in Hawaiian Memorial Park, Kaneohe Oahu, HI.
Military honors were accorded by Anderson-Thomson Post #98 American Legion, Cumberland and VFW Island City Post #6769.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Skinner Funeral Home of Cumberland.
Harry Prewitt
Harry R. Prewitt, Jr, 74, of Turtle Lake died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Luther Midelfort Northland in Barron.
He was born July 14, 1935 in Bunceton, MO to Harry and Opal (Oswald) Prewitt, Sr.
Harry was raised in the Boonville, MO area and joined the US Army, serving in Germany from 1955-1957. He returned to Missouri and worked for a telephone construction company.
Harry moved to Almena in 1959 and was married in Barron, on March 23, 1962 to Shirley Kunkel.
He was baptized and confirmed on January 28, 1975 and became a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Turtle Lake.
Harry joined the Boiler Makers Union Local 647 of Minneapolis, MN and worked as a welder in the construction field. He worked there for 35 years, retiring in 1995.
Harry served on the board of Ag-Ri-Cove in Cameron and was a member of the Barron County ARC. He also worked part-time for the Town of Almena.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Turtle Lake; three sons, Michael Prewitt of Cameron, John Prewitt of Chandler, AZ and James Prewitt (Pat Travaglio) of Cumberland; four sisters, Gladys Anderson, Dorothy (Arthur) Farris, Opal (Earl) Farris, and Betty (Don) Farris, all of Boonville, MO; three step-sisters, Carol and Kay of MO and Sharon of AZ and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers-in-law, Andy Anderson, Vernon, Ronald and Bob Kunkel.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 26, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake, with Rev. David Emmons officiating.
Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Almena.
Pallbearers were his nephews, Jody Kunkel, Scott Kunkel, Jeff Kunkel, Brock Molls, Cody Molls and Kurt Molls.
Military honors were accorded by Donalds-Hylkema Post #137 American Legion of Turtle Lake.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Skinner Funeral Home of Turtle Lake.
